You should probably just hire me on the spot

You know when you're applying to a job, and in your head you just KNOW you'd be good at it and you should have the job? And then you sit down in front of your computer to do your application and cover letter and everything, and you start:
"I'm writing in regards to your posting for RED Zone Student Ambassador. I feel that I would be an excellent addition to your team and this is why..." and then you just stop. And you just think...

What do I say? Why am I the right person for this job?  How do I put into words how awesome I am? I can't just SAY I'm awesome, only people who are not awesome simply write "I am awesome" (Note: I won't lie, on Facebook in the 'about me' section, I just wrote "I'm awesome."  I meant it ironically though. Obviously.) How do I explain my awesomeness to someone who doesn't know me?

No seriously guys, I'm awesome.
I guess I need some context. What is the job? What are they looking for?  Okay, RED Zone Student Ambassador is the name and being fun, friendly, and engaging is the game. I know this game. I practically wrote this game. I am awesome. ;)

For starters I'm a pretty fun person.  I'm personable and bubbly, and I smile like a fool almost all the time and I laugh a lot.  Not in the annoying way though, in a disarming and endearing way.  People can like me without having to get to know me right away. I feel this is partly because I'm able to be a little silly, which allows others to be a little silly around me too.  That can really loosen up a conversation. Plus, you pretty much can't embarrass yourself in front of me since more often than not I will have done something far more embarrassing in front of you already.

Next up, I'm super friendly.  Like, I'm not just saying that, I really am.  It's something about all the smiling; a smile really goes a long way.  I'm that person who walks down the hall and smiles at people. Especially the people who look like they really need it.  A smile makes you look open and approachable.  In first year, I was the new kid who was constantly lost (another story for another blog, it's a good one, trust me) and I had no idea who to ask for help.  But, if I saw someone with a smile that's the person I would go to.  I like to be that person now, the one the lost or confused people ask for help because I smiled at them.

If you couldn't tell by reading up to this point, I am clearly very engaging.  I feel like I am able to appeal to a wide audience and that I have a wide base of experiences to draw on which really help me connect with a lot of people. I'm peppy and cheery for the people who need it, or calm and reserved if that really turns people off.  I have a sense of humour about myself and my experiences that make it easy for people to listen to.  Like, I've been involved with my college council for 3 years and I was even president, which in the right circles is kind of a big deal.  At the same time, I was also the girl who did not want to go to university and had a hard time adjusting for the first month or so.  These are stories people want to hear, the go getters want to know they're talking to someone who shares their ambitions and the students who are just not excited about the entire situation need to know they're not the only ones to feel that way.

So at least now I kind of know what I'm talking about.  Clearly I recognize why I'm qualified for the job but now how do I write this in a formal cover letter???
